INNERMOST GARDEN

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Korean Antique Art Association, a special exhibition "Koyo 1971" was curated across three floors of INSA 1010 Gallery in Seoul. The client invited us to take on the challenge of presenting antique works in a new light—one that could resonate with younger audiences. Each of the three floors presents a distinct curatorial approach.

On the first floor, visitors enter the Inner-most Garden, an installation inspired by the concept of Hortus Conclusus. Within this quiet forest of objects, the audience is invited into a space of passive contemplation.

한국고미술협회 창립 50주년을 기념하여, 서울 인사동에 위치한 인사 1010 갤러리 전 층에 걸쳐 특별 전시 "고요1971"가 기획되었습니다. 이번 프로젝트는 고미술을 젊은 세대도 공감할 수 있는 새로운 시선으로 풀어내는 것이 핵심 과제였습니다.

각 층마다 서로 다른 큐레이션 콘셉트를 담아 구성하였으며, 1층에서는 관람객이 ‘가장 안쪽의 정원(Inner-most Garden)’으로 들어서게 됩니다. ‘닫힌 정원(Hortus Conclusus)’ 개념에서 착안한 이 공간은, 오브제들로 이루어진 고요한 숲을 거닐며 사유의 시간을 경험하도록 유도합니다.
